Thin people don’t know what strong sugar cravings are and how similar they are to drug cravings. Let me tell you… I have been obese and know how it feels. It took me many years to figure out how to lose weight and truthfully I can say it is very simple. Nowadays, I am a bodybuilder and have the body I have always wanted. What makes me sad is that others are not in the same position. This blog is designed to help those that don’t have their ideal body.
Below are the 5 reasons that why you’re not losing weight.
1. Too Many Calories
You were probably expecting this answer…..but stop lying to yourself……. You are just eating too much and going over 2,000 calories in one day. If you want to lose weight you need to eat less than 2,000 calories to lose weight. If you can eat anywhere around 1,600 every day then you will be very thin and healthy for the rest of your life….. Yes, you need to keep a balanced diet from now on. You can’t just say you’re going to eat healthy for three months. Change your mindset! Start thinking that you’re going to eat healthy forever from now on.
2. You Don’t Know How To Stop The Cravings
 
How many times have you been on a diet and gave up a few days later? It has happened to all of us. Why did you give up though? What caused it? CRAVINGS did!! As I said before, cravings can be horrible and you get them at the worse time which is the night….. right before bed. So when you eat at night you go to bed and all those calories you just ate turn into fat.
In order to stop these cravings you need to control your blood sugar levels. You do this by balancing your sugar intake. Let me give you an example. If you eat a doughnut at 3pm your sugar levels will rise very quickly and drop very low in a few hours. Since your sugar levels are low in the afternoon your body will start asking you for sugar. This is why you get cravings.
So what you need to do is not eat that much sugar or carbs throughout the day. That is why you hear everywhere that eating complex carbs is the way to go. So yeah….. eat complex carbs instead or don’t eat so many carbs at all.

Breakfast
Eat some complex carbs and protein. (eggs, chicken, beef, oatmeal, potatoes, or fruit) DON’T eat simple carbs (bread, doughnuts, coffee with sugar, soda, juice, etc.)
Snack – Eat a fruit. Banana, mango, apple, orange, etc. Just one
Lunch
Eat a low carb meal. Try not to go over 15 carbs. So that means no bread, no pastas, no soda, no juices, no lemonade, no hamburgers, no sandwiches, etc.
Just eat beef, chicken, eggs, cheese, pork, ham, vegetables, etc. The less carbs you eat in the afternoon the less your cravings will be at night.
Snack –  Your evening snack should have NO CARBS whatsoever and should be very small. Usually ham does the trick for me.
Dinner
Eat something very light light that is high in protein and contains very little COMPLEX carbs. For example, you can eat some ham, cottage cheese, and chicken.
3. You’re Eating Substitute Sugar
 
Splenda, Sweet & Low, Diet Soda, Diet Drinks, Zero Calorie drinks, etc.
These types of sugar substitutes will fool your brain into thinking you actually ate sugar and will cause you to get cravings later on as well. By eating this type of sugar substitute or drinking diet drinks (diet coke) you will get cravings, get fatter, and not lose weight.
4. You’re Eating Too Many Carbs
 
Many people think that carbs are the devil but they are not. You need some carbs to be able to have energy and have a good metabolism. The problem is that people eat too many carbs. If you eat less than 100 carbs per day forever you will be very healthy. If you want to lose weight fast then eat less than 20 carbs a day for a month or so and I bet you will lose over 20 lbs. Just be careful because low carb diets will slow down your metabolism for a while. You need to learn how to cycle carbs.
5. You’re NOT Exercising Enough
 
Everyone hates exercise. For me, running is the worse thing in the world and it bores me to hell. I’m sure many of you hate running too. The good thing is that I lift weights which helps me with burning calories.
Here is the problem though. Sometimes people don’t exercise enough. They think that by running 10 minutes every other day they will lose loads of fat. I tried it too and you need more.
The best way to lose fat is to lift weights for at least an hour and 4 times a week. Also in the same week, do 3 days of cardio. If you don’t like running for cardio then try swimming. If you don’t like either of them then try cycling. It takes a while to find out your favorite type of cardio. Don’t do something you hate because you won’t be able to keep doing it. For example, I love cycling and riding my road bike for two hours doesn’t bother me. I love it…… Now if I go running, I will dread it before I start, while I’m doing it, and afterwards. I hate running.
So find your favorite sport and do it for cardio.

Obesity should not be that much of a problem for us. We can fight it and beat it. Remember that the most important thing that will help you lose fat is KNOWLEDGE. Educate yourself about fat loss, dieting, exercise, and nutrition. When you do, you will never be fat again.
